Default Different sort of Insurance question

So I've been with SafeCo since I was 16 (28 now). They've always been pretty good customer service and had good rates for me. My renewal is coming up and I just got a bill where my rate is jumping about $75/6mo. Certainly not bad, but I was a little miffed. I did a little research and found that if I were a new client and requested similar coverage on my same car, the rate would be lower than what I was even paying before (not significantly). So much for being a loyal customer with gobs of renewal credits. When I called them I got a "I dont know why your rate is higher, but that's the way it is".

SO, I am going to speak with my wallet and am looking into other insurance. My agent called me today and said that Nationwide can cut my rate down by about $150/6mo from what my new premium will be with SafeCo.

How many of you here have Nationwide? Are they good? Any personal experiences you'd like to share?

speaking on behalf of myself only, i've had pretty damn good experience with nationwide. but, i had a cool agent that would bend over backwards for me. when i priced out some insurance quotes from esurance.com, nationwide would always be the cheapest. i gave them a call after calling other companies and their price couldn't be beat.

before i signed up with nationwide, i got into a car accident and the other driver had nationwide. they were easy to deal with. i just don't have any experience with them as far as making claims myself.
