Why? Leave it in gear until the revs drop low and then clutch in. Uses less gas.

everything from d/c to rev matching is "superfluous" but we still do it, why?

there are people in these boards that don't believe in either and there are that believe in one, i happen to do both.

if we all agreed to the same things it would be one boring forum, so i don't expect you to agree on everyting i say but like said before to each his own.

so enjoy your sausage lunch with mindcore..
while you munch on your trd pile wahahahahhahaha

no its not bad but if you ask a few people they will tell you differently how to get to from 4th to 2nd. you will see from my previous post how i would do it.

^^So if you're going 55mph on a highway in 6th gear and slowing down to make a right turn(let just say you're not making a complete stop) in 3rd gear going 25mph. Do you still down shift through 5th and 4th before going into 3rd or do you just clutch out, rev match and go into 3rd?
From 55 to a 25 or less turn.
Jab brake
(moment)
Jab clutch
Netural
Pop out clutch
Rev match to about 6k
Jab clutch
Gently push into first
Release brake
Rev match to about 6k
Gentle but decisive clutch out

rev to 9000!
and then again!

Man I miss the S2K.

Dude, just because in your mind double clutching and rev matching are equally important doesn't make it so. What you're doing is giving crap information to the few people here that actually wanted a real answer.

Let me repeat. Double clutching is absolutely 100% useless on the S2000. Rev matching, while not mandatory is a very good idea. By rev matching you can reduce the impact on the drive train and keep the car in balance. If you don't rev match for a down shift, you will put more weight over the front wheels and reduce the weight in the back, which could affect traction, especially if you're going anything other then straight. It will also wear out the clutch faster.

Datdude, just skip from 4th to 2nd. If you can, rev match...meaning with the clutch in, try to approximate the rpm's of what 2nd would be at the speed your traveling. Trust me, you can do this allllll day long with no adverse effects.

anyway, i went out to lunch and decided to pay attention to my driving. what i did notice i don't double clutch as much as i thought i did. most of the time i, clutch in-neutral-blip-gear down-clutch out.

i know i used to d/c a lot more but i guess i'm getting old...
