There's nothing at all wrong with what you are doing (in terms of the way you are selecting the gears).

Personally, I've developed the very bad habit of whenever I stop at lights, I put it straight into first and hold the clutch pedal down until they turn green. Pure laziness really. I've often wondered if doing that stresses anything.
Yep. Tough on the throwout bearing. Is the s2k clutch cable or hydraulic? If hydraulic, then sitting with the clutch disengaged is also hard on the master and slave cylinders.

A few questions:

When I'm coming to a stop from 50-60mph, I'll leave it in 5th or 6th until the engine drops down to 1500-2000rpm, disengage the clutch, and throw it in neutral while at the stop. I then put it in 1st when I take off. Should I row through the gears before putting it back in 1st? As in, disengage the clutch and shift from 6th to 5th to 4th etc to 1st while the clutch stays disengaged so I'm not going from 6th directly to 1st? Keep in mind I'm not downshifting while moving from 6th to 1st. I just never shift down from 6th when I come to a stop until it's time to accelerate and I put it back in 1st.

I've heard that the throwout bearing is stressed when the clutch is held in the disengaged position for a long time, so I try to immediately shift to neutral and engage the clutch again when sitting in traffic or what not. Is this true?
Why do you need to down shift through every gears (6th through each gear all the way back to 1st) just to go into neutral and then stop the car completely? Is it too much common sense to understand?

LOl, I also hope you're not double clutching for each gear because that is just plain stupid. I don't know if this is the case for really old car, but definitely not if you drive a modern car.
