Seems kind of dumb to me. A day of raining would seem to have the same effect, bringing up grease and dirt embedded in the roads and driveways. I don't see them trying to ban rain though (although I guess they could always try).

Simpler solution: make car wash soap biodegradable. And also considering how much oil, soot, and other crap that gets all over the grounds that on the first rain gets washed into the drains anyway, car wash soap is hardly the issue, especially considering that one gallon bottle of soap lasts how long?
Retarded, way to distract us from the real issues.

well the thing is, all this adds up eventually. I say not washing the car is a great way to promote the car industry and stimulate buying of new vehicles. once the car is too dirty, just buy something new.

wait, is producing new vehicles a bad thing for the environment too? N/m.

They drop the waist into the city sewers (where its treated) while in your driveway it can go into other sources (storm water drains) that go strait into creeks and such. This has been a big issue around here in government. Last I heard was that its illegal for you to wash your car but they wont enforce it.
*smacks head*
ofcourse! makes perfect sense...

Next thing you know, they are going to ban swimming because human bodies dipping in the ocean can pollute the water and upset the delicate balance of the eco system.

Or we have to obtain CO2 permit to be allowed to exhale. You know, global warming, right?

In this case, we have to fine the U.S. Government and UAW then. They sort of partially own a couple car manufacturers here.
