Default E46 M3 prices

Has anyone here recently purchased a new E46 M3 coupe, or know anyone who has? I know these were EXTREMELY hot when they first came out, with waiting lists all over, but I don't know how well they're moving currently. My wife and I are considering adding one to the garage, perhaps near the end of the year, but I'm wondering if I can guage whether the prices will be at/above/under MSRP.

I just took delivery of mine yesterday. By the way, I love it so far, SMG is AWESOME!

Anyway, I went in to the dealership in January, put down a deposit for a March 21st build date.

I got a little of MSRP, but they say it is becuase of loyalty to the dealership. I don't think there is a real wait list anymore, but sales people will probably tell you that there is one.

Fight as hard as you can to pay under sticker. By the end of the year you should be able to get a better deal.

Good luck.

I think MSRP for a base coupe is $48,xxx+. SMG is a $2400 option. Then other options can make it easy $53-55k. I have seen 2002 as low as $42,xxx. I won't even mention the conv. cause I think they want too much... But if you find a deal, take it. Great cars.

I've seen perfect used ones go for very realistic prices...

If my Subaru dealer is going to do the rediculous markup thing. I'd go for the M3 too. I heard there's a dealer in Florida which sells the M3 way under the sticker. (like $3-4K)

I am going to pick mine up at the South Carolina Factory on Friday. I called 5 dealers around the nation. Since I am going to pick up my car at the factory, so I don't have to see the dealership at all. You can get them well under MSRP right now. If you need to know where I got mine from, PM me.

If you have time, do the factory delivery. It is well worth the money.

May I ask why you guys are selecting SMG??? I know it's a great new way of shifting, but I can't imagine paddle shifting with no clutch instead of the standard Six speed.

Picked up my 2003 Carbon Black/Cinnamon Cabrio with SMG last weekend. Love it but love the S as well. Paid $500 below MSRP.
