Electric supercar debuts tomorrow!
http://www.teslamotors.com/
Roadster
0-60 mph in 4 seconds
250 miles per charge (price wise, is equivlanet to 135 mpg)
They had a short glimpse of this car in the documentary, Who Killed the Electric Car, and it looks really nice. Can't wait to see videos of them on the track!

even though they kept the pics covered, I wish they had given a little more info on the car. Just to get me excited. Not that 0-60 in under 4 sec, and $.01 per mile isn't enough..

Lots of other electric sports car options already discussed here:

You can watch some videos of the WrightSpeed (one beating a Ferrari and a Porsche) here:

I saw it, the website and pics are up.
It looks like an Elise, then I read the wired article that stated that Tesla "bought" some of the designers from Lotus.
It's very cool, the interior looks really cheap though. It has some cool features, and it's performance and range are great.
If I could afford it I would definately pick one up. At 250 per charge that's about 1 week of driving for me. I don't really go any farther than 50 miles per trip so it would be perfect. I'd have to have a second car however to make long trips in though.
And of course like the article states, I would miss the sound of an engine and the vtec surge or a turbo spooling but at least the "engine" would go to 13,500rpm?

Regardless, I am interested to see what happens with this car. If it really can get 250 miles per full charge, that's pretty damn good. Of course, if you're pushing the thing, that mileage is bound to drop as with gas engines. The price will be key to all this.

It appears to be built on the Lotus Elise chassis, just with a different clamshell and obviously different powertrain. The interior looks just like your standard Elise with a few minor cosmetic differences.
