Default The elephants in the room

I am seeing quite a few frs scions these days. Very popular and I could have bought one last year but opted for my2005 s2k because of horsepower, drop top, and it is darn good looking. I know the subaru is coming out with a droptop and aftermarket vendors will probably start up turbo manufacture etc. for scion and subarus.
Reading what I just wrote makes me think our s2k's are going to lose their high resale value due to this new competition. What are you other owner's thoughts?
I want somebody tell me that I did the right thing opting for the s2k.
Thanks

High resale? Wut?

If you enjoy driving your S more than a BRZ/FRS, you made the right choice.

That's incorrect. Toyota wanted to build a convertible version, not Subaru (not sure if they would agree to it either) however it has been put on hold indefinitely. Meanwhile, a 4 door sedan based off this platform is more likely at this point.

I really like them. If I was buying new and had to have only one car for daily/fun, they would be at the top of my list. For those of us looking for garage queens, weekend warriors, or track monsters then the S2000 is still the way to go. After you factor in tax/registration on a new car, a used S2000 is still a good deal and you can find examples in like new condition although it requires some patience.

If you're buying cars as investments then you did the wrong thing but neither option would be a suitable investment as neither of them are exotics.

If you bought the car that suits your requirements then you did the right thing. For one person (for most users here) that may be the S2000. For another that may be the FRS/BRZ. I'd pick the S2000 no question but none of us can tell you which suits you best. You should have done your due diligence including test driving before buying.
