That article is very biased and I wouldn't take what it says to heart. I'll tell you what tho, I went from an S2000, to an STi, then back to an S2000. I know it's just my opinion but it felt so good and right to get back into an s2000. If you're a speed freak, then you might want to stick with the Evo. My STi was super fast, and when I first drove the s2000 again, it felt like I was driving a golf cart, but I quickly got used to it and I love it. They are both very good and capable cars, but also very very different.

I just me or the whole article sounds like some jealous teenage honda-4-life owner wrote that?

it is what it is, if the evo is a glorified econo sh-tbox, what does it mean when honda turn out the itr, ctr, si, nsxr?

if you ask me, evo is a very different type of car, it's build for speed just like s2000 but with different emphasis and principle.

one is being smooth, light and control

the other achieve speed by sheed power and boost

trade up to the EVO IX MR from the EVO boards lots of EVO owners are doing that. Looks better and more power along wtih having MIVEC Pretty much the best EVO. what do you think best EVO color is?

On performance straight line, the s2k is basically 1 second slower on 1/4 and 1 second slow on 0-60 compared to EVO IX.

Once you start modding the speration becomes even greater.

I know I've been debating so bad, wait until new STI or new G35 but can I wait another year?.....even so the EVO IX will be probably be one of the best bang for the buck cars ever around 33k. EVO X will probably be close but now its supposed to compete with m3 and infinit more luxary and its not the normal rally test EVO etc = higher pric tag and more weight.

It is a very personal thing. I test drove an EVO in No. Va in 2003, loved it, was given an incredible offer but turned it down. I test drove an S-2000 one block away in No. VA in 2004, was given a good offer and bought it. I am in my 50's and the S reminded me of the English roadsters I drove when I was a kid but was much better. The EVO handled great and has awesome acceleration but it just didn't do it for me.

My oldest son drives a heavily modded STI and calls it a 21st century muscle car (I also drove a Dodge Charger in the 1970's) and I think he is right. I love to drive it but it is a beast, it snarls rather than purrs, it snaps your head when the turbo kicks in, and it is a blast but it wears thin after awhile. It really depends on what you want, a car that can blow away most off the line that handles the corners very well, or a finesse car like the S that accelerates pretty darn well, handles the corners like nothing I have ever driven that costs under $60k, but requires some real skill to drive well. The STI and EVO are much more forgiving of pilot error in the corners but I think the S-2000 can outperform them on a twisty in the hands of a good driver.

Just MHO.
