I went to a Mitsubishi dealership yesterday
to check out the Evo's
and in the showroom they
had a silver one with black/grey leather
it looked really good
I thought they only came w/ the Black and Blue cloth??

Do they come with the color matched leather for all the different colors??

I don't think they come with leather from the factory. Sounds like maybe the one you saw had been done by an aftermarket upholstery shop.

I drove one the other day and i loved the seats. The cloth recaros are better than our s2ks seats. The steering felt more precise also. The shifter did not, our shifter is the best i have used. I guess its faster but it really didnt feel like it. Its also too quiet. The brakes have to be better but they felt dull to me. Overall a nice car especially if you want 4 doors, and its got a better drivetrain warranty.

 

I have seen a nice custom leather interior installed by the dealership. Cost about 1K.

 

There is no Lancer Evolution 8 in USA.

Mitsubishi never sold any previous Evo's, and that it is so radically different from the Euro/Japanese Evo (the drivetrain is probably not even as good as Evo I), therefore it is the "Lancer Evolution".

 

why do my floor mats stay "EVOLUTION VIII"? .

You are being nitpicky... people know it is "evolution", but it is actually Evo VIII... and the floor mats do say Evolution VIII.....

 

I think it's an European thing. They haven't had it released in Europe yet so it doesn't exist.

 

Perhaps they use Evo 8 parts bin then? You could and can get Impreza STi accessories for the Impreza WRX, including the mats. Does not make it an Impreza STi.

Evo 8 has been out in Japan for some time, I think, but it won't come to Europe until March.

American Evo drivetrain is really really sucky compared to what is on the Evo 8.
