thanks,

A while back a dealer told me that, culturally, leather is not as desired to Japanese car-buyers as it is to the rest of the world...so likely an option there, but standard here.

Our seats are only partially leather, I believe. There was some discussion about this in the past (might try a search), and the prevailing thought was that the perforated areas were leather, the rest synthetic. Rick H would know for sure...

I think Rick said before that all the seating surfaces are leather, and it's the back of the seats that aren't, but I could be wrong.

I've had my car since Nov 1999 and since shortly after that I have been reading posts on this subject and trying to discern the truth and I still don't understand what you mean by "seating area".

Is seating area everything on the top side of the seat?...or is it literally just the center area...so that it would not include the interior edges to the side of your legs and arms/shoulders?

Why do I care? Because I would like to think that I am treating the seat with the proper seat treatment, i.e. leather vs. vinyl.

Let's get Rick to give us the definitive position...no pun intended.

My guess is all of the front of the seat... the back of the seat is not leather. I say this because it's the same way with my Maxima... The front/top of the seat is leather but the side and back is not.
