Personally, I think you guys should lay off on the guy. I've been here a long time and I pretty much read the forums everyday (I don't make that many comments on here though) so please don't think I'm some kind of troll. If you read my previous posts, I would like to think that I write RELATIVELY insightful stuff, MOST of the time.

Anyway, while I agree with you guys that there are probably faster stuff around the track, I disagree that just cause it is a track only car that track times are the only important issue when discussing the value of a track car. I think that even track cars should be judged on the merit of how fun it is to drive.

Personally, I think a track-only Exige makes more sense than any other type of street car made track only car cause the car is already difficult to live with on a daily basis for 95% of the population.

Also, I think that if you want to compare it with daily drivable cars and say that being daily drivable is a virtue, I think that it would be more fair to compare with a Exige S because that was not the purpose of this particular car and would not be logical to criticize it for this when it never set out to achieve this end (kinda like complaining that the S2000 doesn't have ventilated seats and wood grain trim).

Also, I don't think its fair to compare this extremely limited edition version with more mundane versions because all limited things will be more expensive. THIS CAR IS NOT A CAR MODDED VIA THE AFTERMARKET; IT IS DONE IN HOUSE BY LOTUS. Is the 911 GT3 RS worth the extra money over the regular GT3? I don't think so, but that doesn't mean I think the car is worthless or sucks. Does the E46 M3 CSL suck cause it's not street legal in the US and still can't beat a Z06. No, once again. In fact, I like both those cars.

Finally, I dont think it is pointless because a Z06 will beat it through the straightaways and most likely post faster times. The GT3 RS (depends on the track from my understanding and only reason it keeps up is the great tires it has) can't beat it, neither can any Aston Martin ever built, any Ferrari ever built short of the F50 and the Enzo, the 911 Turbo, Murcielago, etc... Sadly enough, I dont think that the Noble someone suggested below me could beat the Z06. Once again, that doesn't mean that this car is crap. To say there was no point of the existence of a ITR or NSX, S2000, 911 GT3, (or any other car that was slower than any other car on the track but as expensive) would be a gross overstatement.

I understand the frustration of constantly being passed on the straightaways, but I think that this car still has a niche and isn't quite the horrible value that many of you have implied.

Thanks for reading my book.
