This thread makes me yearn for track time behind the wheel of an F40.

 

see i feel the 40 looks better than the 50. i believe the 50 is the obnoxious looking one, but thats IMO.

loud is subjective, but why would you want a quite supercar anyway?

The F50 looks like a gaudy failure in design next to the F40.

 

That's kind of harsh. I think they are both good looking in their own way.

 

It's pretty rare for Ferrari to create an ugly supercar. Pointing to a particular Ferrari and saying, "Well, it is pretty ugly" is like pointing at a particular supermodel and saying, "Well, she is pretty ugly." Just my .02 cents.


With that said, there are a few Ferraris that do look pretty ugly now, but compared to cars released during the release of those Ferraris, the F-cars still blow away the competition.

 

I guess it didn't help that ferrari was struggling in the early 90s in F1 and the F50 was the successor to the last car Mr. Enzo built. To me the looks don't get me as excited as a F40. I see a F40 and I think a beast ready for the track, but the F50 tries to look like a racecar and street car. I don't know, it's tough to explain. One thing for sure is that the F50 had a sick ass v12 sourced from one of Ferrari's F1 cars.

 

I feex!

F50 is rather ungainly and gimmicky looking to me, plus it's hideously overweight. F40 is the real deal, no-compromises Ferrari supercar.

 

For me the F50 IS FERRARI! I still dream of ripping around some Mediterranean coast top off, V12 screaming.
