Amazing looking car. But I agree, those rims need to go. Need something "race-inspired". Those look rap video inspired

But whatever, awesome car!

Nice ride, but to diss the C6 on poor handling and interior is ironic in that the interior of the C6 is nicer than that 996 Carrera and has superior handling to boot.

Either way, enjoy the ride. Looks sharp!

Yep I'm not crazy about the chromed out rims either. I will likely get flat black rims. I may even just powdercoat these ones or something.

I'm sure those rear leaf springs do wonders for rear compliance. This is the first I've heard about the fabulous handling of a vette. Drag race goes to vette, but the c5/c6 doesn't hold a flame in most other areas.

Also, that 7 year old interior is easily nicer than a new C6s "Cavalier-inspired" cockpit.

The Vette is an awesome car, but c'mon let's get real. I do not hate vettes, but I'm turned off by the interior, commonality, cheap rear suspension & plasticky-ness of the body.

It's okay to be ignorant if you're oblivious of the fact.

LOL corvette dosn't handle well. ignorance is bliss.

I've driven a few 996 911s and really the interior is nothing great. It's fine but don't act like it's a Vantage for example. Probably a new Vette is all around better car but I'm not hating on the porsche just funny to hear how a 996 handles so much better than a C6 have you driven one?.

Ignorance.... is bliss...

Let's congratulate him on the purchase instead of turning this into another lame cat-fighting thread.

Have you driven a C6 or 911 C4? Sure doesn't sound like it. The C6 is quite a bit more capable than an older 911 Carrera 4 except in the snow or wet (ie, where traction is heavily comprimised). Otherwise, it's pretty much way faster, quicker, nimbler, and better braking and cornering. The old C4 was actually a bit of a dog compared to other cars of the day, much less the new ones. It had grip but that's about it.

Why not talk about the wonders of the fabulous 35/65 weight distribution of the 911?

Results count, not the means of getting there. If wagon wheels made a sports car faster or better, I'd have 'em...
