Are you really that worried about snow? How much does Carmel get? 6 inches a year? And it is never on the roads for more then a day.

[QUOTE=rai,Sep 16 2008, 06:21 AM] Fit should drive OK in the snow.

Snow: I'm not that worried. But if I'm buying a DD, I'd like something that I feel really secure in when it does snow.
most cars are ok in snow provided you have adequate tires. I put winter tires on all my cars (even the S2000 when I had it) and even the S2000 was fine in light snow.

Most FWD cars are good in the snow. Even a RWD car like the 3-series would be fine.. most Police cars and most ambulance and taxi cabs are RWd and they drive in the snow.

FWD just a little more idiot proof since the rear doesn't want to come around.

I agree that almost any dealer won't have 24 '08 Fits on the lot... website can't always be trusted. And Fits aren't really priced all that much higher from Invoice to MSRP.... so not a lot of wiggle room to begin with, if any at all.

Don't know about there but around here fits are going for sticker if they're on the lot.
Used imprezas/outbacks always a good option, although gas won't be as good as the fit but it does have the awd.

I don't want to be insulting about the Subarus... as I think they're probably great cars, they just aren't... my taste? Sorry, I know you all are trying to be helpful.

Yes, while there may not be 24 Fits, perhaps that indicates there are at least a few?

Anyway, anyone know the invoice price of a Civic?

Edmunds.com and carsdirect.com can help you price out a car and find invoice prices
