In defense for op; I did feel the need to correct someone who said that I drove a miata. Maybe I'm elitist? Wouldn't go as far as to say hate. I do think miatas are cool though.

I call my car a "miata" all the time as a joke. It's really not as big a deal as you think. Maybe it's just me, a lot of my friends race spec miata so I'm surrounded by them haha.

Miatas are awesome drivers cars. If I could remember right, I think the viper had a lot of miata influence.

A friend who is much older than me drives a Miata. He loves my car so I had to ask why the Miata then? That was the car he always wanted. He bought that car he always wanted after selling his Ferrari 0407 GT a few years ago. Look that car up on why I wanted to know. This guy is the nicest person I have met.

I like the beater ones driving around LA with rollcages, torn tops and no rear window. How could anyone hate the Miata??
