Looks very nice! Almost a mash of Elise meets Porsche.

And to the OP, the concept is called the 4C.

I'd love to make this a successor to my Z4.

I wonder how much more boost that little engine can take. Spending more on a slower car is hard, no matter how sexy it looks.

the elise has pretty much the same specs.
1. It's, um, eye-talian!
2. Lotus has been taken over by a bunch of yahoos who don't give a rat's arse about light weight. The Elise's days are numbered and Lotus isn't likely to replace it with another lightweight sports car.

Sucks that Porsche doesn't have the 'nads to build us one, and the "small" Ferrari is close to 3500 lb.! What's a fan of minimalist lightweight sports cars with a few $$,$$$ lying around to do?

Here's to Alfa building this *and* the 2uetto

I don't see how it can be made comfortable, light-weight, and at the same time, sporty.
the people in the market for a fly-weight sport car already have an Elise/Exige (with a reliable Toyota engine).
the market for this kind of car in the US is very small. even among the S2000 crowd, how many have made the switch?

it can by Eye-talian all it wants but how many folks have a spare $60K lying around for a super lightweight expensive sport cars who hasn't already purchased an Elise/Exige?
if it's $20K I can see loads of teens/20's buying it but at the projected $60K, it's DOA.
Porsche is not in the business of losing money. I don't see it putting "nads" over brain and build a money losing car with a tiny market share.

I LIKE IT! I'd be nice with an old fashion 6 speed manual, but I guess old ladies should have fun too. Love the 8c style wheels and the blonde on the left.

An odd argument for a couple of reasons:
A: There is only ONE SINGLE CAR in this niche, IMO *plenty* of room for other manufacturers to offer an alternative to the Elise/Exige.
2: As mentioned above, the Elise/Exige isn't going to be around forever, and Lotus is (unfortunately IMO) going the much bigger/heavier route with future models.

I don't know about that... For sure it's in the enthusiast's best interests that they give it a shot! I'm not spending $60k on a car in any case (although I could technically "afford" to), but I'd LOVE to see this car make it to market. Would definitely consider a depreciated used one...

That logic says that Porsche should be making Camrys.
If Porsche built an Elise, they'd easily sell 10 times what Lotus sells, for a number of resons. But they are 'nadless, so instead we get obscenities like the Cayenne and Panamera, and their lightest-weight sports car is well nigh 3000 lb.

Here's hoping the new owners put them back on track.
