Getting my RF600 back on the road
Got an RF600 that has not been started for three years, but I want to get it back up and running.
Other than putting in some petrol and checking it has oil is there anything I should do before getting out the jump leads and giving it a go?
Paul.

discard any existing gas method:
remove the seat; (peal back the back of the seat) left/right and remove (2) fastners. remove the tank; on my 07r1 (2) fastenrs left/right and third up front. remove the fastner rear of the tank (goes through the hinge). tip the tank upside dwn but not all the gas will drain, rinse the tank with good 91 gas till good. important to remove 3year old gas before starting.
dont run the bike w/o a battery installed, after 3years unlikely the battery will keep a charge.
inspect the chain, inspect the tires for a flat spot, inspect the air filter

Older Suzuki charging systems just aren't that robust. They'll maintain a charged battery, but really shouldn't be relied on to recharge one.
Buy a new battery, or you may buy an alternator and reg/rec.
Drain carbs again, run fresh gas into carbs.
Drain once more. Prime carbs. Start. Hope no varnish formed in carbs.
Oh, before starting.... look for mice nests in and around the airbox.
Have fun.
