Guess where I went yesterday!
Hey guys-
Figured I would post some photos on my trip to the Ferrari Gallery in Maranello, Italy that the wife and I visited today. I ended up taking some 250+ photos that were "keepers" with my new Nikon D40 SLR camera. It was 325+ until I cut out redundant pics and blurry ones.
Here are a few teasers! If anyone wants to view my entire album, PM me your email address, and I will send an invitation to view the album (I don't know how to make them ALL public to EVERYONE. Just how to share with individuals. If someone knows how to do this with Google's Picasa 3, let me know!).
ITB's anyone? Carbon fiber fuel rail? Check and Check! This is the F1 engine from 2002.
HOLY EXHAUST MANIFOLD, BATMAN! This is from the 1999 F1 series.
The 2004 F1 series cars (1 of 2 in the museum). They won SOOO many races that year, it doesn't seem fair!
This is one of their 2006 F1 cars.
There are a TON more F1 / GT car shots within the gallery, just a few of my favorites.
Here is their production showrooms (2 rooms).
The ORIGINAL Ferrari 250 California...
Ferrari 612 "Sessenta" (Scaglietti here in the US, I think).
Ferrari 360 Challenge GT car
Ferrari 575 GTC
Ferrari 360 Barchetta
The elusive Ferrari 275GT
My PERSONAL favorite.... The F50.
The NEW California... Looks HOT in person, a bit chubby in pics (if not at the right angle).
And, or course, the reigning King.... The Enzo.
This is the reason I started loving performance cars.... The F40.
Once again, if interested in viewing the entire album, please PM me your email address, and I will do my best to send an invitation to view the album.
This was a car-guy's wet dream! You could hear the F1 cars testing on Fiorina (sp?) test circuit next door... It was raining, so I could not get out there for photos, but they sounded NASTY! I also saw some sort of "mule" version of the California, with a TON of diffusers and stuff attached. It did NOT sound normal (I have heard one rev up before, and it was NOT a v8... sounded like a small displacement 10 cylinder... reminded me of their F1 motor sound).
We only have time for 1 more tour before we leave, and I could not get Lamborghini with enough advanced notice (they only open up upon request). We are instead touring the Pagani showroom and PRODUCTION FACILITY!
Later!
John

On a side note... All these pics SHOULD be the same size... They were all taken with the same camera, and uploaded at the same time. They should all be the larger size, not sure why some got shrunken down...
Mods, feel free to resize, I believe the camera is 8 megapixels, so resolution should not be an issue...

w000w, the 360 Barchetta was a one off wedding gift to the President of Ferrari. I can't seem to find any info online about the 612 Sessenta edition. What's different about the car?
Is there a way you could make this album in your collection public?

Very nice photos though, I'm quite jealous. Much in there to over.
