or Audi All Road Quattro...

I love their ads, but all the new Hummers are still , . Honestly, if we're talking about weekend fun, what's wrong with a Jeep or LR Defender?

If you want real offroad performance get the H1, if you want real onroad and fairly decent offroad performance get the H2 or H3. The H3 would probably be better in the typical city driving. I think it has decent trail performance and probably compairs well to a Jeep Grand Cherokee but the H2 will compair to the new Jeep Commander. The H1 sucks driving around town but you can take the thing everywhere. (except grocery stores because of the narrow spaces! )

Supposedly the H3 Alpha in a year or two will have the venerable Vortec V8 motor. I might actually look at one then!

I think The General did a good job of the design, the little H3 visually ties together witht he H2 and the real Hummer very well. As far as, could I live with it as an SUV? well that is another question.

If I wanted a rugged SUV I suspect this is where my money would go...
