Honda's Turbo engine!
I was reading about the new Civic Si and i found that honda will be making a turbo engine hey?...
I know it's a repost but if you missed it here ya go Civic SI
"The Civic Si Concept celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Civic Si legacy in the U.S. and builds on its performance heritage with a 200-horsepower, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC engine with an 8,000 rpm red line, mated to a close ratio 6-speed manual transmission"
about the turbo...
January 27, 2005 -- From recently obtained inside information given exclusively to Honda-Acura.Net by an email tipster, we have verified the engines that will be featured in the 2006 Honda Civic, 2007 Honda Fit and possibly the 2007 Acura TSX, plus other engines that have unknown destinations. Our source reports that Honda is in the final stages of development for three new engines destined for the US, including a 2.0L 4 cylinder and a 2.4L 4 banger. One of these engines will probably be slotted into the Civic Si, respectively. What

Eh.... if Honda releases a 2.4 L engine, it should be about 240 hp, based on my calculations. If Honda turbos that sucker and sticks it in a Civic, I think we can expect upwards of 300hp+, which is EXCESSIVE for a 2400lb FWD car (some ppl complain that the 240hp FWD Accord is excessive).
never say never, Honda now makes a pickup truck, right?
I would like a better source than an anonyms email tipster's report on vtec.net, but who knows?
With this much power front wheel drive is not going to get it done.

BTW- The rumors I've heard have been for a Turbocharged TSX with AWD (not SH-AWD, but more likely VTM-4) putting down around 250hp. Maybe from a smaller engine, and a small turbo? 2.0L K series engine making 200hp NA then add the turbo?
BTW- The current TSX power plant is a 2.4L making 200hp. So its possible they could just throw a turbo onto that too.
Honda does make production turbo cars in Japan btw. See the post I linked above for more info.
