Default how does the Lotus engine rate against the Si?

I wonder from people who know about these things is there is more to it than just hp, TQ and redline which looks similar between the Elise and the Si.

Si 2.0L 197hp@7800 rpm 139-TQ@6100 rpm
Elise 1.8L 190hp@7800 rpm 138-TQ @6800 rpm

I'm just thinking about those two as the highest small fours, the RSX isn't being made any more (?). obviously the S2000 tops all at 240hp from the same displacement.

What is so special about the S2000 engine? how is it so much above the two i mentioned above?

What's wrong with mine? Or is it not small?

K24A:
200hp @ 6800; 166 lb-ft @ 4500
(Numbers are pre-facelift and on old SAE standard)

TSX yes that's a hot engine, I was just comparing the Elise to the Si since they seem so close in most regards. I wonder which of those 2 are better?

As the Elise is being sold in the US at least, it could use something more. Not that it's bad, but they aren't flying off the lot.

The Exige S with a SC does address the problem, but just another 23hp. The price is almost $20K higher than the Elise.

There are superchargers and turbo kits for the 2zz that would fit in an Elise. The Apexi Power FC is a cheap standalone that works well for the 2zz as well. $6k can put the 2zz well past 250whp and even past 300whp if you go turbo. So far the 2zz is known to put 450whp down reliabily without any changes to the internals. Certainly more than enough power for an Elise without having to pay $6k+ for a K swap.

If n/a power is a requirement, 200whp with bolt-ons and a tune is a possibility.
