Default How does the NSX compare to the S2000?

Has anyone driven both cars?

I am in the marked to getting sports car.

I have driven almost everything out their except for the NSX.

It is so amazing how the S drives better then everything else.

Here is my list.

STi
Evo
M3
Boxster
Slk

and blah blah blah... I cant remember them all.

But wow amazing how I like the S more then the M3.

So hard to test drive a used NSX. Can hardly find any.

Of course I am going to spend 30grand for the NSx so it is going to be a used one. Not a new one. But I hear they are pretty much the same car new or used.

Any opinions?

I'd say stick with a new S. Newest technology, newest designs (not that the NSX isn't sweet), warranty, <50 miles on a new car, plus the S is a convertable. Just my opinion though.

If you're looking for a weekend sports car either one will be great. Although I love my S I would consider one of the new lotus's. A bit more than $30k but so is an M3 and boxter.

I've driven an NSX (older one) probably about a '92 or so. I was only about 18 years old when I drove it, and I only took it out for about 5 miles (in the santa monica area which is pretty damn crowded). I have also driven an '06 S2000.

If I were to buy one I would choose the s hands down.
...and honestly, from a purely fun point of view, I can't say the the NSX was any more fun than the S.

boxters have poor resale values and high maintenance costs. I blew up a boxter leaving a toll booth once, they are very weak. (I blew something in the gearbox, what, I dont know.) The s also has the best gas milage. Im getting 21 mpg with a supercharger and a heavy foot.

Buy the S2000 and sleep easy knowing you wasted your money on the right chunk of worthless metal.

What are your goals with the car?? If your planning on doing some modding I would Without a doubt get the EVO. If your not planning on modding it I would get Porsche Cayman S.

Anyone considering an EVO and NSX needs to focus their interests more. 30 grand will get you a good shape 91-93, but only after 97+ is the NSX really comparable to the newer sportscars of today. I'd say visit NSXprime.com. They have a couple enlightening threads about S vs NSX.
