Look I think the Z is great. but by building as many cars as soon as they can they may saturate the market.
2 cars:
1) M3 keep the supply tight sell at or above MSRP. still manage to sell 7K/year great resale value.
2) Z06 Build as many as possible saturate the market have people shopping around at different dealers for the best deal. result after 2 years on the market I can get Z06 for $4000 below MSRP. also used Z06 lose value because new ones are so cheap.
I like the first senario.

Your logic is flawed. If there is enough supply the consumer does not have to pay markup and therefore the initial value is less an therefore the resale value should be lower too. Say it after me: Consumer always win when there is more supply than demand on a product.
You see, the missconception is that S2k keeps their value well because people could still sell their 2 year old car for just $2k less than MSRP price. But what you are not looking at is the markup people had to pay to buy it new. So, the depreciation of a 2 year old S2k is no longer just $2k but can be as high as $7k depending on what the owner paid for the markup price. Same thing with the M3.
The Z06 in the other hands people are actually paying $4k under MSRP for brand new Z06. So their depreciation seems high if you use the MSRP price to compare. (Granted a Z06 will depreciate more than a S2k because it's a much more expensive car) But to get the real #, the depreciation should be calculated based on what the owner paid when they bough it new instead of the MSRP price.

I see your point. Better for the manufacturer if supply is kept less than demand (M3). Better for buyer if supply is grater than demand(Z06 or 350Z). I was just saying for nissans perspective it would be better to make 20K Z's than 40K Z's. for the buyer it is better the way it is.
Also for some reason people were paying $$$$$$$ OVER MSRP for Z06 (2001 MY). Next year chevy adds HP and better wheels etc. and makes a bazillion of them. All of the sudden joe schmoe payed $58K for a 385 hp and I can get 405 hp (2002 MY) for $48K.

I don't know about that. They are still pretty rare around here. Hell, I only see another S2000 around about once or twice a month. I have only seen 2 350Z to date. The messed up thing is I see H2's almost twice a week or more!!! Another unusual thing to think about is I hardly see a Z4 around here and I live in the freaking BMW "bible" belt. I guess the people around here isn't too crazy about the Bangle car design of the Z4.
