In terms of 1) build quality and 2) reliability what is the best generation or YM Accord?

I'm looking to buy a new beater and am almost considering another 91-93 because I've had an extremely low amount of problems with my old one over the eight years that I owned it; however, a 10-12 year old car is somewhat questionable these days.

I'd like to pick up something decently nice, reliable, and cheap to insure while not spending more than $10-15k.

I'm not limited to Accords...I just like Honda's.

Best accord would have to be either the 1998-2002 or the current model. Your price range would suggest the 1998-2002. Each year they get more roomy. The 1994-1997 body style is as big on the inside as the current civic, one of the dealers told us when we were looking at accords.

1991-93, or 95-96.

IMHO the 98-2002 have a avg. reliability for a Honda. If you read CR - you will notice that 1998+ accords get a half a red mark(Above avg.). for reliability. Remember all the 1.6% tranny failures on the 5 speed automatics.

I recently bought a daily driver and decided to go with 2000 EX-V6 with 4 speed Auto.

I would say 1994-1997

My mom has a '99 EX V6 and the tranny was shot after <80K miles. And she drives it like, well, like somebody's mom

Of course, I've always wanted an '81 hatchback. I love those things

Shit, if you have $15K to spend go get a brand new Mazda3 or a Scion. You're rolling the dice on any used car.
