Jet powered Beetle
Jet powered New Beetle
Saw this in a Car Domain email today and haven't seen it posted here yet. This guy get's an A+ for execution, look how clean that install is (well besides the giant turbine exhaust sticking out the back, but even that looks cool). I bet it's a hell of a ride.
Here's the guy's homepage.
EDIT: Shit, sorry if it's a repost, hadn't seen anything about it here or anywhere else.

This reminds me of the guy in Califonia that's been putting turbine engines in everything from motorcycles to street cars. Jay Leno has one of his jet bikes, two of which I've seen in person. At a car show, they draw a crowd like no other machine can.
He showed up a few months ago with a 2001 Eclipse with a helicopter turbine in the back. You couldn't see it from the outside, and the car had the original engine and tranny in it, so it drove normally, save having and extra several hundred pounds to haul around.
