The current S2000 is over $33.7 atleast.... So again, how is this out of the price range I predicted. 2 years ago I paid $31.5 OTD for a MY05 S2000. If in 1-2 years I can get a base 08-09 135i for $33K OTD I'll be extremely happy.
Was I imagining things or did you not say that the 135i was going to be 30k?

When in actuality, with delivery, you will be sniffing $40k. Also, one lesson you are going to learn with BMW, on a high demand car you will be paying sticker or over. $33k? Maybe in fantasy land. Say hi to Peter Pan for me while your there.

A sub 3500lbs TT I6 coupe is going to walk anything out there under $40K.
I don't think the 135i is going to walk the Evo X. The two cars will be very similar in performance. I expect the 135i will have the edge in refinement, the Evo the edge in handling. The turbo inline four won't sound as nice as the twin-turbo inline six.

Evo magazine had a comparison test in the June issue that included the 130i. They loved the car but did criticise it for feeling soft handling wise. IIRC, the car was equipped with the Sport Pack. Hopefully, the US 135i will have better suspension set up.

I'm coming from an S2000, I don't want navi, I can count on one hand the amount of times in 4 years, I've used AC or Cruise control. I want a 2dr car based on light weight performance that I can drive every day and haul 2 full grown Boxers w/ a G/F. I want mod-ability and a powerband that is plentiflul throughout the full rev range. C&D said theh 135i should start at $33K which is the same price as the S2000, so if they are wrong, I'll have issues I guess, if they are right, watch out EVO and STI.

I don't want to argue, but how the heck are 2 dogs getting in the back seat of a coupe?

Good lick with your car.

IMO 4 doors >> 2 doors

It sounds as if you are buying the 1-series even if the EVO hands it it's ass.

You say you jumped on the band-wagon sounds to me like you drank the Kool-aid (IMO).

S2000 is to the 1-series as the Boxster is to the 335i they're not the same class.
I strictly buy car's based on performance. I bought my 1st S2000 years ago when it usually lapped a track faster than a Box S. I will buy a 135i in a year "OR" 2 when it laps an EVO or STI or S2000 or 350Z for a comparable price. I guess you don't believe a Cayman S will lap a 911 at the track yet.

I guess I phrased it wrong, but I think a 135i will be more of a drivers car than an EVO or STI.

Would you choose the C6 over the S2000? I would, and I'd say the 135i is equal to the C6 in my eyes as the 135i equals the practicality of my lilfestyle as the C6 equals the performance I desire. The C6 or C6 Z06 (for sure) is what I want, but my next best option I want based on necessities I might need in my life fall on a car "like" the 135i.

I'm trying to pick a car based on my lifestyle, I think the 135i fits most if not all conditions, that what I'm banking on. I like RWD, I like Turbo, I like 2drs, I like 6cyls., I like BMW M styling, and I love Light weight drivers cars, sorry for being into the S2000 comm.

Rai, you asked about to much performance for the street, imagine this short wheelbased car with mild boltons? If I get one, I'll take you for a drive that redefines your definition.

Make sure to budget for the LSD too. It sounds like for the car in the guise you want you will be spending around 42-45k.

Do you do a lot of track days? I have been on track with lots of BMWs including SC M coupes and they really aren't the end all be all of track cars. If it's mostly a street car then whatever you get will be fine, but if it's a track car I think you may be disappointed.

Well to be honesty with you, it's worked extremely well with a Scion TC on anywhere from a 10HR to 3HR trip. I think the BMW will do fine. Mind you these are pro trained twin sister Boxers. We've had no issues on road trips.

I'm sorry for loving RWD cars. AWD cars' cover up talent flaws IMO. There's only one thing I love more than Racing, and that's learning the limit. AWD masks the limit with technology that makes up for lack of talent. I like to learn from my mistakes which is the reason I will always love the S2000 and what it's given me.
