Default Leaving hood up or down

Is it generally better to leave the hood up or down when the car is not used but in the garage. Does the material or plastic window suffer damage if left folded for a length of time.
Thanks for your advice.

I leave it open most of them time if the drive is longer than 5 minutes... unless it's outside

I generally leave the HOOD down when the car is in my garage, unless I am working on something under the hood. When the car is in a service GARAGE, then I let them decide when to open the hood and when to leave it closed -- some work requires an open hood and some don't. I especially NEVER drive around with my HOOD up, it is always down when I am on the move, it blocks too much of the visibility if it is up (I am a short guy).

On the other hand, when the weather is good outside, I'd drop the convertable TOP of the car when I go for a drive. I'd put the TOP up when it is parked (except when in my garage, then I'd keep the top down).
