Just a place holder. They call the LS460 the LS430. In other words this flow chart is out of date.

I suspect it's the V8 hybrid LS with gas-elec power equal to the 400-hp+ to take on the V12s that MB and BMW have. V12 power with V8 fuel econ.

Very interesting. Did this come from a credible source? I spoke to a representative from Lexus corporate at the Detroit auto show and he didn't know anything about tentative release dates for the IS conv or the LX replacement.

I'm curious as to the origins of that paper. Seems like Lexus has a lot of cool stuff coming out, but I do have my doubts that all of that is totally reliable.

I'd have to say the LS900h is invariably some kind of high horsepower hybrid monster to compete with AMG, S8, 760, etc. Might be cool to see a big ass sedan with like 450hp that gets 40mpg. I'd buy one!

If they ever post a true release date for an IS350 convert with a manual, I'd start an "IS350 piggy bank fund" lol.

It will probably be more like 470-500hp and 25-30mpg. They are going to value power over outright fuel economy.

I'd buy one of those, too! You get my point though. I say enough of just making outright horsepower, that's been done to death. How about focusing in on efficiency as it relates to power? I say go for it!

The horsepower wars are getting a little rediculous in that market segment. I remember when the Audi RS6 came out with an "amazing" 450hp. Now, if you don't have ~500+ horsepower, you can't compete.

I won't even bring up the S, SL, CL 65's

He probably "didn't know" because A) his ass would be fired if he did know and told someone not affiliated with the company, and B) it's still 2 years off and schedules change. Whether he knew or not matters not to the realities of modern day corporate functioning.

That LX Replacement is taking way too long. Lexus has had the current LX470 more or less since the 98 model year. If the new one is 08, that's 10 years!!!!

I know before my dad was looking into the LX again, but couldn't really go with the LX470, he's been waiting for the next one for a while. If it's going to be another 19 months or so, I may tell him to just go with the new Escalade.
