Look What We Got To Ride..
While Danica Patrick was making history in Indy, we got to tool around the neighborhood in this replica of a 1901 Curved Dash Olds.
Wife and I were out walking and spotted the white-haired guy pumping up the tires. He was offering rides to anybody who wanted them (surprisingly, not everybody accepted )
It's a 1959 replica and is powered by an 8-hp lawnmower engine. He says the clutch is slipping and needs some work. It's a buckboard with a motor attached, and steering takes a little preparation..the turning circle is, well, wide. He's actually going to buy a second one - this one has a few miles on it, but the one he's about to get has been stored in a museum for years.
This was the most popular car of its era - here's a link: Curved Dash Oldsmobile
