My 2001 748S. It's a track toy. Yes I am probably quicker on an older SV650, so what.

Reliable so far.
Depreciates like hell.
Makes pretty sounds.
It is the only bike I have owned that drags nothing on a roadcourse no matter how far you lean.
Never had the pipe burning problem -- but then I always ride with full gear, at the very least textile pants. IMO if you are stupid enough to ride without protection a burn on your ass is the least of your worries.
Is not all that uncomfortable once you adapt to the full race position.
Not a city bike with the stock gears.

I've owned many Jap bikes. I like Jap bikes. Most Jap bikes are faster. I don't give a rats ass, I am in love with the Ducati -- it answers some unspoken need.
