Suprisingly it is, and it's not a bad problem at all. Just need a weekend to knock it out. High idle, encounterd by other owners before.
Nice. I'm always fascinated by the Ferrari threads around maintenance.
Sounds like you are going to DIY

What is considered a good deal on these? Better yet, if you dont mind sharing, what did you pay for yours/how many miles? You can PM if you prefer.
Can you point me to a noob thread for these cars?

The F355s have come down in price quite a bit. Many are hovering around $60k. Check out:Similar prices show up when I checked cars.com

Yeah, they range pretty wildly on prices. Buying a f355 for 45k is a recipe for disaster. I'd recommend anyone buying one without a solid maintenance history to have $15k set aside, if it was maintained properly then have about $6k just in case (specially for headers, since those are guaranteed to go bad again). There's a reason a lot of those f355s are for sale at stealerships like that for those prices. Mine was purchased from the local Ferrari dealership, and serviced at that same dealership since (and my God was the dealership a fun experience, more details in later).

I'm not even sure how many hours I've spent reading about the car, but the best site was here: http://www.the355.com/mambo/index.php

Where are you located? I attended a charity event at the ferrari dealerships here in Marin. I believe it's the oldest dealership and is either partially or totally owned by the factory stil. It was grandfathered in or something. Pretty awesome place.
