Default loss of power in prelude

i have a 01 honda prelude type sh and for the last two weeks i have noticed a loss of power in the entire powerband. the car feels slower and there are no abnormal noises from the engine and there are no check engine lights on the dash or anything of that sort.

anyone know what is causing this problem?

It's probably just because it's hot outside. The Prelude's ECU pulls a LOT of timing - it feels like even more than the S2000 does.

I used to have a 2000 Base Prelude too. It was always sluggish when it got hot out - more so than any other car I've driven.

this isnt a slight loss of power, but it is significant. i press the gas pedal all the way down and the car has no acceleration. second gear feels like third, third feels like 4th...etc. its lagging too much. there are no mods.

btw...i think i remember you from preludeonline.com.

Could it be something as simple as a clogged air filter or something blocking the air intake? ... Try and check the simple stuff like that first and if you still can't figure it out then maybe have a mechanic take a look and see if he can figure out whats wrong?

Maybe give your map sensor a few good whacks too.. might be pulling an S2000 with an uncooperative map..
