What kind of power are the MS3 and MS6 putting out aftermarket? That will give some good insight as to where the MS MX-5 can go. Some factory parts on a MS3 help it a lot AND keep the warranty, I believe.

It is true that the base MX-5 starts around $21,000. But if you want the sportier Grand Touring verison it is more like $25,000. I would expect Mazda to sell a turbo version for atleast a $3,000 premium over the GT model. $28K is still a great price though.

Yeah it will probably be as quick if not quicker than an S2K. For those who already have an S2K -- just turbo your car if it bothers you Death to the S2000? The car is at the end of its model life cycle anyway. It is likely Honda will not be making them anymore two years from now. Enjoy today.

The miata is a great car. My father has the new one with the suspension package and a soft top. The car does all the same things the s does, just much softer. Lower level of grip, no hard vtec pull, softer clutch. The inside does not have the purposeful feel the s does, and the shifter of the s just can't be beat for a roadster.

Even with another 80 hp in the miata, I think I would still take the s. I also just slapped in a vortech SC, so I am not too concerned with the new miata, unless they mod them which you know poeple will. The s looks fast when parked, where the miata looks like a typical british roadster.

The folding hardtop would be great though, and I am sure it will be a great car, I just could not see myself driving one.

Wow... APC should make some NON-Altezza lights for the NC.... those look so lame
The thing that kills me about the new miata are the tail lights. Give me solid red or something similar the the G35, or 350z.

is it just me or does the front end resemble the nissan nx2000? nasty...

The 04+ S2000's are beautiful cars inside and out, especially GPW w/ red black interiors )

Q the rant...

I swear if there was a porsche or ferrari symbol on the hood instead a an H, people would speak volumes about the car as if it was mythological.

You guys sounds like a bunch of whiney f'en ****s... If you're tired of your car sell it and f off. Why not learn how to become a better driver and drive the snot out the machine you have, instead of bitchin that honda hasnt come out with a s2000 replacement.

Learn to appreciate what the car is, not what it isnt.

Comparing hp and torque, 0-60times, are for guys who are all into dick measuring contests. Bunch of losers... All I know is when I've got the top down on a beautiful day, and im hitting that corner 5 clicks fast than last week, ive got the biggest dumb ass looking smile on my face... and thats why i love this car.

Oh ya... chicks dig it too.

The s2000 died back in 05', STUPID honda is ruining a great roadster by letting it wither away with 10 year old techonolgy.

Not only does it come with a factory turbo, a intake, full exhaust, and a remapped ECU for higher boost should add roughly 80-100 more horse power.

i like the new miatas (that is with the mazdaspeed kit on)... but more power isn't going to convince me to get one over my s2000. i believe our 240 crank HP N/A motors are as good of a start as it gets. drop a few tunes here and there and the "s" is hard to turn down.

but i wouldn;t mind sporting the mazdaspees mx-5
