Mini Tec Vtec Mini
There is an article in the Feb. edition of C&D about a company that is putting Honda engines in original Minis, not the newer ones. They are using Honda engines that were originally designed for the Integra R and are rated at 195 horsepower. The company used diffrent exhaust and intake to get more power and claim a total of 220.
The car puts out some good numbers .96 on the skidpad, 0-60 in 5.0 (with excessive wheelspin) and 13.6@104 in the quarter but from reading the article it sounds like traction becomes a problem most likely due to power/weight.

saw this car and company at the auto show last year. the engines are mounted in the rear trunk area and the install is not clean at all, but the concept behind it is pretty cool, that is if you can find an original mini!
I'll stick with the k20a5 elise's
