That's rough, I wonder what can be done? Isn't rust like impossible to remove.

No, it's not just one guy. Even I have it. I barely drive in the rain too since I have a beater. I've been able to avoid lots of the Evo problems so far, but apparently, I didn't on this one.

That is surface rust, hardly what I would call a rust problem. Surface rust is not uncommon, even on new cars.

Don't they all start out on the surface?

It certainly does, but surface rust doesn't mean the car has rust problems.......many cars have surface rust when new.

As you can tell its in a non painted area, its an issue but not an emergency.

Just like a Cancer, it should be treated though.

I'm sure the dealer will warranty the parts needing replacement.

Exactly...so far no one on the Evo forums has bothered to take it the dealer, since we all know what goes on there (crappy service). It's a huge issue over on the Evo boards, that the rust is on a key structural point (crash beam) and rust overtime will weaken that area, maybe causing a rear-end accident to be worse than it is.

I'm pretty sure we'll find some rust if we disintegrate our cars too.

That looks like an area where there is no paint, therefor rust will start. If you leave steel like that exposed it will rust very quickly.
