Looks like they're a bit late to the party, they killed the Ecliplse back in 2000. I'm amazed really that Mitsubishi is still in business given some of their business decisions. If it weren't for the EVO they could vanish and I wouldn't even notice.

I for one will be sad. I've made a lot of money keeping mitsubishi crap running over the years. Eclipses and 3000gt's used to be a steady source of work for the shop. Most are in the scrapyard now. No one seems to be buying there other cars, ar least not in our area. I would predict mitsubishi will eventually abandon the US car market. They seem to be slowly phasing there dealers. Our local mitsu dealer now sells mostly hyundai.

The eclipse could have been a great car but was always FWD and sort of half assed in my opinion.

They're copying the Honda business model with an extremely lame line up of cars...

I think it's been a case of giving customers what they say they want until it gets to a point the car bears little resemblance to the original. They got softer, larger, heavier, a V6, all things I'm sure cutomers told Mitsu they "wanted." Which is how you turn a fine enthusiast car that sells reasonably well to everyone else into a car enthusiasts don't really care much for any more.

Peach, the GSX model was all-wheel-drive.

I really liked their Gen 1 & 2 AWD cars. I actually had the Eagle Talon version back in the day. But the Eclipse hasn't been relevant in years. It seem to get progressively uglier.
