Need Advice
I vote you drive it back. If the car is on the forum, its a good sign that the purchase experience will be a good one. Not saying its garunteed but its better than ebay or autotrader. People from CO could vouch for the guy/car.
I was planning to drive home from Oregon to Delaware this summer to move my gf home. When looking for stuff to do on the way I found this topic:

His trip in an s2000 looked so fun. I asked my gf if we could sell her Mazda3, buy an s2000, ship her stuff home and then she could have my R32 and I could have the s2000 once we got home
I told her the upgrade from the Mazda would be worth it
She said nice try.

Driving 1700 miles is crazy. Ship it; should cost much less than $1000.
Just drove from MN to CA total of 4000 miles (did this in under 4 days with 1 friend).... If the car is stock drive it back, I would have liked to have more time though (we had a deadline)... I would have preferred 1 week for my drive there and back
