Yeah - that's an important statistic, the 2K more Escapes that Ford sells in Canada vs the CR-V (I made that number up but they probably sell as many in a MONTH in the USA as they sell in a year in Canada, so it's irrelevant in the big picture).
The Accord, Civic and CR-V are top nine in individual sales in North America for all of 2010. Toyota and Ford both had two best sellers (one truck, one car for Ford and two cars for Toyota) and everyone else had one or no cars on the top ten list. So yeah, it's a big deal.
How many models does Ford have? GM? Toyota? They're all way bigger in overall lineup compared to Honda.

Top nine, not number one, there is a big difference. Bigger overall line-up ?? Thats what happens with BIGGER companies. How many vehicles do GM, Ford and Toyota sell each year in North America compared to Honda ? If you want to go this route, we certainly can. The Toyota Corolla is the best selling car in history having surpassed the Volkswagen Beetle. Ford probably sells more F-Series trucks than Honda does Accord's, Civic's and CR-V's combined here in North America. Most of the commentary on this thread was directed at the current state of Honda's offerings, particularly the new Civic, not their business model or individual sales but we can play that game if you like.

I said those vehicles were #1 or #2 in their respective SEGMENTS. They are top nine (four, six and nine) for all vehicles (trucks and cars included). As I said, no other manufacturer has as many best selling vehicles in the top nine (or commonly reported top ten).
Honda is the #4 manufacturer in North America, based on sales. It definitely isn't the #4 (it's lower) for overall size and vehicle lineup size. Honda also has the highest percentage of sales to consumers (ie, non-fleet sales). They have the lowest average incentive per vehicle. The CR-V has the highest resale value percentage of any mainstream vehicle currently sold today.
So yeah, let's play that game.
Well at least Honda is still making the SI, the only other comparable car in its class is the Sentra SE-R I think?
The SI has the most HP/TQ then it has ever had (except for CTR) and everyone is taring it apart before its even released. Of course if honda had a real sports car in its line up no one would be so hard on it.
