Theres no same hp and weigh the same option. Thats what i would choose but since it was not available i selected less hp weigh less. The dimensions are small and who knows what kind Of electric motor tech will be available. As far as i'm concerned it will be a different type of sportscar than the zo6 and cater to a different market. To me the zo6 is like the acr and gt3, track focused vehicles. Where as this appears to be the sport limit of a gt car like the r8, 911s/turbo, gtr. So maybe it will be a few lbs more say 3300.

I don't think the new NSX is meant to compete with the Corvette market even though I'm sure the latter will always have better power-to-weight numbers...Just like the V8 Audi R8 isn't a great bargain when you look at its specs.

i'm not saying it will compete. i understand who this is catering too. I was just curious if people believe it can outperform a previous gen (when the nsx comes out) Z06 in the most basic ways.

It will outperform it in the way for which it was designed, mpg, tech and comfort. Pretty basic lol. I think it will match a z06 for pace.

I think that HP is a very ambiguous measure of power. Especially when electric motors come into play. That said, I voted less power, more weight.

sports car designs for comfort & mpg? like Civic SI, VW GTI, Mazda 3, Mini Cooper S, etc?
when you can't win, change the rules of the game?

FWIW, see my post in the other NSX thread (ie Not a Vette fanboy)

Ummmm yes actually. See audi r8 and 911 turbo for comfortable performance cars. Even the zr1 had a target to reach 30 mpg (it failed) during development. The new mclaren had ride comfort as a big priority as well. Its ride comfort is praised relentlessly. Cars are evolving, driver thinking is not. Exotic street performance, comfort and now hopefully mpg, need not be enemies anymore.

Weight is the interesting question. Most people think the S weighs more than it should for its size and basic nature. Slap a V6, some electric motors and batteries, bigger wheels and tires, electronic nannies and ammenenities (touch screen, electric seats, seat heaters, etc), more airbags, more stiffening, beefier drivetrain, another cupholder and secret compartment , to an S and what do you think the S would weigh? Sure you would lose some weight being a hardtop though. And they promise the use of "lighter" materials which affects the price alot. I have a feeling the NSX is going to have a worse power to weight ratio than the Vette, but may make up for it in other ways. Even with the beak, it already looks better on the outside.
