Default The new Prelude!

I read in a magazine couple of years ago that Honda will bring the Prelude back but this time with an Acura badge! Does anyone knows if this is true? I really hope Honda builds the Prelude again!!

They are going to have to do something. The new Si has RSX Type S performance, and the RSX is about to be history so they need a higher level performing car to add to Acura's lineup. VTEC.net says Honda is building a $40-50k sportscar currently. We'll see.

I think Honda could have very well slapped a "Prelude" badge on the new 2006 "Civic Si" Coupe. It seems to fit the Prelude concept to a T - Coupe body, loaded with standard amenities (but no "luxury" stuff), sporty tuned suspension, and a powerful motor. But apparently Honda's marketing team though that "Civic Si" had more panache and cache for their target demographic.

There will be no Prelude-like coupe in the Acura linup unless it is the replacement for the RSX. Both in the same Acura linup would just canabalize each others sales.

Whereas the Integra and RSX were always Civic based, the prelude started out being Accord based. So a new Acura "Prelude" would basically be a TSX coupe. I say do it, and keep the wishbones please...

Honda should build a car that looked like the old prelude and put a C6 LS2 in there...... 350Zs would never know what hit them. That or they could put like a 9 cylinder 3 turbo system with built in supercharger and one of those electric fans in the air intake. I'm not sure which one would make more power.

I think you answered your own question. If you read it a couple of years ago, and it hasn't come out yet, then it was probably just a rumor.

I would be perfectly satisfied with a 2006 Prelude that looked exactly like the 5th gen w/ OEM lip kit (such a nice looking setup) and had the S2k motor and RWD.
