Unhappy NOW thinking about getting an STi!

hey guys, ok i really didnt want to make ANOTHER thread on this but I just wanted a couple simple answers and thats it.

Anyway reason I am saying sti over evo now is simply because of safety (2 star side impact rating!) . No matter how fast/cool my car is I couldnt live with myself say if there was an accident killing/disabling (whatever) friends or family knowing there was another option. Its just my priorities.

Alright as much as I love the evo, I want a quick comparison from ANYONE willing to help on a simple factual s2k vs. sti.

I really mostly want to know is how capable the sti is, in comparison to the s2k on track. I believe it would still do very well, but if the s2k is a hands down winner in handling over Sti... I will re-think practicality and keep my s2k

Again sorry for another thread thats only really going to benefit me... It will be the last one. Thanks in advance for any comments

STI (esp stg. II) owns the s2k (unless it has FI) in all areas (Including handling & safety) other than sexiness. STI>EVO as a DD. IMHO.

Nice orig. thread idea, but for some reason I am having deja vu.

i like the Sti 08 alot. When i saw it at the L.A. auto show I was very like nice! I think i found my next car. I also saw the EVO X and well it didn't wow me as much, for some reason. its was nice though. I know the 08 looks funky but there is some cool lines to the car. hatchbacks never do that well here in the US.

Definitely wait for the 08 STI... like many others, I didn't like the way it looked in pictures, but when I saw it in person it looked 100x better. Can't beat the practicality of a hatch either

I'd like to agree with you on that except that handling part. I would strongly disagree as I think the S2k is more balanced and has better turn-in due to being rwd.
