obd1 vs obd2

Default obd1 vs obd2

i know obd2 is better at telling you what's wrong
but are there any pros to obd1?

I know that OBD1 is easier to tune or at least to put a chip on it. There is only one sensor for the o2 sensor I think. Someone correct because I'm probably wrong. For my M3 the OBD1 is a cheaper ECU reprogram to get a chip.
