Default Oil Filter Question ***NOT S2K***

So I bought a 2006 Civic. It is due its first oil change. I am going Mobil 1 5w30 and wondered if I would be able to use a PCX filter on the civic? Was wondering what everyones $0.02 is on this. The S2k just hit 10k and its getting its Mobil 1 5w30 this week.

I don't think the PCX is going to fit on the filter mounting pad. The PLM filter is the correct one for it.

Moving to Car Talk, as it's a Civic, not a S2k

The PLM is smaller than a PCX. It is not the correct filter for any S2k. The threads are the same, as is the o-ring dimension.

The filter mounts on the 06 Civic to the bottom of the oil pan. I don't know if the pan allows the larger filter. I'd use the PLM, it's cheaper and the reccomended filter.
