I, actually, my wife picked the MDX. My best friend has the Pilot. To a guy, it doesn't matter, both are very very similar in objective categories. Maybe it's that little "A" symbol that makes it more "special' to a woman, who prefers more amenities. The Pilot does have more seating compared to the MDX. However, FWIW, the navi inthe MDX is very easy to use, my friend complains of the one in his Pilot. Personally, if you don't care for the "brand image", I'd get the Pilot and use the cash elsewhere.

Is the navigation system different in Acuras and Hondas?

My dad has the MDX too, and I think it's pretty nice. I actually wanted him to get the Pilot since I thought it suited him better, but at the time, it was for my stepmom. She's upgraded, and he got her hand-me-down

And I'm with iatacs19; I don't remember seeing any 04 MDX's with HID's. And Acura's site doesn't state that it has HID's. It does for the other cars, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't...

Not to get off topic. I'd probably just get a Pilot. But you should really go and check them out and decide for yourself.

Jean

P.S. What does "FWIW" stand for?

FWIW = i think it means "for what its worth"

by the way the navi in the pilot seems pretty simple to me, but I havn't used the MDX's navi so I can't compare. the one thing I did hate about the Pilot is that the gauages are green. I wish there were that whiteish color.

i like the evo..... i would just lose my ass and other parts if i were to sell it..... especially now that the entire world thinks that mitsu is going to void their warranty if they forget to lock the doors at night!

why don't you buy a escalade w/ some 26's?

As an '04 MDX owner I can tell you that it does not have HIDs.

honda negotiates don't worry, we got ours down on price. its just all a matter of timing. go at the end of the month towards the end of the day. look at there boards and if they havnt sold a car that day they will do anything to sell one car.

hey michael A -

i thought you were selling your S2000 about 2-3 months ago???? no buyers or you decided that Evo's are pretty cool??
I sold my S2000 back in October and still have my Evo that was bought in Dec. Might be looking to sell that also as after driving my wifes MDX it is so much more comfortable than the Evo. I think I need a G35 or '04 TL.

In NY the local Honda dealers laughed at me about discounting the Pilot. In fact the local dealers basically don't have any in stock.

Like Scott B said, MDX does NOT have HIDS. Projector style headlamps do not mean it has HIDs. The Lexus GX and LX both have projector style halogens, like the MDX.

I believe the 2005 Pilot is getting a moonroof from what I've heard. You may wish to move up to the Acura for things like a power passenger seat, warranty, dealer service.

When i was looking for SUV, at Acura dealer,
i was quoted around 39,000 maybe little less...don remember the exact price,
but definately less then 39000.

Price included EVERYTHING. Even that little camera thing that make you
able to see the back in reverse mode.
SO FULLY FULLY LOADED at around 39,000. it was very tempting.
but we went with ML350 special edition.

Car itself would be better off with MDX but...you know..
overall...thought Mercedes was more tempting...cuz interior quality of
HONDA/ACURA kinda sucky.

Anyways, definately i'm on MDX.
