I was driving a del Sol VTEC which pulled a 15.7 and was almost the kind of the road (Mustang GT's were pulling 15.7).
Say what?

I cant wait to burn through the stock crappi tires and get some road handling tires.
Ehh, newsflash, the MDX is an SUV (well not really, it's an AWD van but let's set that aside for the sake of this point) -- 3000+ pound vehicles with high centers of gravity do not handle well, regardless of the tire.

What about a Cayenne Turbo?

Hijack...

Todd...Please post your time slip(s)! I ran 13.409@102mph 100% stock in the middle of august last year.

The same night an STI with turbo back exhaust and 17" volks ran a 13.35@102mph.....

I have not seen that many totally stock STI's beat 13.4 so please post.

I have always thought about this argument as I still have my '97 del Sol VTEC. I always said it was a 'sporty car' but not a sports car. However, some people classify Miatas as sports cars. If the Miata is a sports car, then the del Sol VTEC (160 HP) is too. The VTEC kicks the (bone stock) Miata all over the place, except for a bit less handling.

I agree that the del Sol S and Si really don't do much, being 108 and 127 HP, but the VTEC is quite a decent performer.

I would definitely recommend the MDX over the Pilot.

As previously mentioned, the 04 Pilots are still having problems and are in the latest transmission recall.

The Pilot lacks side curtain airbags found in the MDX as well as the stability control.

The leather quality in the 04 MDX is a lot better than the previous MDX and current Pilot. Its softer and now perforated. Seats in the MDX are 8 way powered + 2 way power lumbar support.

The MDX headrests were redesigned and the Pilot headrest aren't as effective. The head restraint rating on the MDX is listed as good. The Pilot head restraint rating is listed as average to marginal.

The structural cage of the MDX is also superior to the Pilot. The MDX had very little intrusion giving it a good rating. The Pilot didn't fare so well getting an average rating.

The 04 MDX windshield has been replaced acoustic glass that is almost twice as thick as the glass in the Pilot to reduce interior noise. The MDX also comes with a tire pressure monitoring system, and auto rain sensing wipers that the Pilot lacks.

There is a lot more I could list, but basically you do get significantly more for your money with the MDX and its all worth it.

Is Motor Trend the ultimate and deciding factor in autosports now?

Seriously, stop mag racing.

Furthermore, in the 1/4 mile, an STi will not beat a Mustang SVT Cobra (with the 390 hp supercharged motor). Shouldn't even be close with competent drivers in the car.

On a racing track, the STi is going to be very fast. Fastest? Hard to say. But yes, it's fast. Faster than an Evo? Perhaps. But not for certain. Depends on how long the straights on and how many curves are on it.

Stock for stock, there are a few cars that will give an STi a good run (or beat it) on a more tightly set up track. In short, an S2000, 350Z, or Evo will all run with it.

The STi is not the be all and end all of sub-$35K sports cars.

Charlie - sorry to hijack......

Todd.... here are two links to show you are a Full of SHIT!!!!

The first one says you ran a 14.01 was your best time....

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...opic=14971&hl=

Then the second one says you ran a 14.3 as your BEST.... and averaged 14.7.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...=31838&hl=drag

I thought you didn't drag race? I thought you said you ran 13.2 w/ 13.7 your average

This is just like your story about hitting 150mph at PIR on your first visit there! Guys who run there regularly can't hit over 135, but you...yes you Todd somehow got an extra 15 mph over them all.....

You forgot we have a search function on this board...... How does it feel to get caught at your stupid bullshit? I doubt you have beaten any Evo's now that I can prove you lied about everything else!

Scot I dont spend my time dragging, I spend my time beating Evos on the AutoX track (havent had one beat my time at an event yet)

Scot, come out off your lala land world, the Sti is quicker in a stait line then an Evo, dont make me post the stock 12.9 second times slips again.

Just because that one Sti that was at the track the same day as you cant drive his Sti doesnt mean you can apply it mysteriously to all Sti's.

Nobody doubts this except you oddly... (then again, over the years, with in general not being able to get along with people, every car you own is mysteriously the best car)

No one doubts that the Evo has the handling advantage over at least a 04 Sti...

You proudly throw that drag figure around on this board Scot, lets hear about the other times you recieved. I ran a 13.2 once im my S2000... But 90% of my times were around 13.7
