Thumbs up radio codes

I have a 04 acura tl and an 04 honda accord, and don't feel like taking them to the dealer just to get the stereo code. does anyone know of a way to put a vin no. in and get the code for that car, or any other way to get the code than dealer costs.

P.S.- Sorry if this isnt the place to post this, mod's let me know if it is.

The original selling dealer should have a record of the code. I had a used Integra GSR and the original dealer gave me its code for free when I took it in for them, intending to yank it to ID the code.

Did you get the manuel with the vehicle(s)? The dealer wrote the radio code in my manuel for me!

It should be hand written in the owner's manual; otherwise take it to any dealership they will give you the code, though you may have to prove it is your car. Last time the guys at the dealership even entered the code for me, since my car had over 10 possible codes.

For me, I just called the dealer from where I purchased my Acura from. They only asked for a vin# and maybe your name and address to confirm? This saved me 1 hour of driving to the dealership.
