Rear view Camera/DVR
So a few friends of mine have been in hit and run accidents. Mostly in nice cars, so repairs were pretty expensive.
With all the gadgetry of the new luxury cars, including the backup cameras and the parking assist, when will a manufacturer attach a hard disk to the solution and use the existing optics as a DVR for motion and impact situations?
It would be perfect, an actual recording of the accident and the license plate and picture of the driver that was responsible. even door dings could be captured.
I would think that insurance would give you rate cuts as well.
anyone?

It would be nice if the black boxes recorded cars nearby, like with RFID chips. I had a friend get hit last week in a four car accident. The car that caused it took off, but the strange thing is, so did one of the cars that was hit. I think its illegal immigrants from Mexico - they don't want to get caught, plus, in Mexico, thats what you do if you get in an accident.
