I owned a Celica GTS for three years and had no problems mechanically with it. In stock form, they handle very well. The steering wheel is the best feeling stock one I've felt. With the TRD exhaust you will have a very nice sounding exhaust, not too loud but just enough throatiness. I can't say it added any horsepower, but definitely lighter. I think it will come down to which car looks better to you and which is more comfortable to you. If it weren't for the S2000's, I would buy another Celica.

Actually, I must say either car is fine. I would wait till the RSX Type-R comes out..... I would say get the WRX =). This is off the subject but... there are much better cars you can get for the price range you are paying for the RSX Type-S and Celica GT-S, I rather get an 03 Accord Coupe or WRX =) Did you ever consider a used Honda S2000?

My younger brother has a RSX Type S and I have an S2000. When I drive his car, it's almost like driving my car handling wise. I think that the RSX-S is gonna be the closest thing to the S2000 as you can get. An RSX-S has great handling for a FWD vehicle. I would get an RSX-S anyday over the Celica GT-S.

coming from an rsx-s owner this is biast, but i love my car... right now the only performance mod i have is a CAI and it adds signifigant power... i hope to get the hondata once i save some cash over the summer... i like the celica too, but it just seems so much more common than the rsx

That looks like my roommates RSX. Make that 2 desert silver RSXs with the same goodies.
I have driven the type S and I like it a lot. It really couldnt hang with the S2000 in the hills but it did quite well on the straights. I may pick one up for a daily driver car.

I'm gonna go for the underdog in this debate... the Celica.. I own a 2000 GT-S. I love the car. My best friend owns a RSX-S. It's a great car as well. If you want a more raw feel get the Celica. The RSX is more refined and "soft" if that's the right word.
