S2000 hate? why?
S2000 is overall better package than an FD, especially with some mods.
NSX vs. F355 ? Again, superior built quality and ease of maintenance make the NSX a winner. Who needs status(a F355) if you can experience that very occasional F355 street encounter with a brief rear view mirror reflection of some yuppie trying to keep up with the super handling S/C'd NSX!? Those moments are worth alot more than the entry fee for a Ferrari

Yes really.
The 355 generally runs to 60 in 4.4 to 4.6 seconds and the 1/4 mile in the 12.7 - 12.9 range (like you stated). The 3.2L NSX is good for a 60 mph time in the 4.8 - 5.0 second range with a 13.1 - 13.2 1/4 mile time the norm. The 355 will also hold a skidpad better than an NSX. On a track with comparable drivers the 355 dominates the NSX, put a duff in the Ferrari and yes maybe the NSX "keeps" up. The 355 has 85 more HP along with 44 lb-ft torque while giving up a little more weight. I owned a 91' Formula Red NSX prior to my S2000 and was very active at NSX Prime, I know what they can and cannot do. Any 355 would easily hand my 3.0L 91' NSX its ass. The NSX is a great car and I would own another, it is not a threat to the 355 however.

And this doesn't even address the fact that it takes a very skilled driver to extract all of the Ferrari's performance, while a merely competent one can make the NSX perfrom very close to its limits; for average drivers, there is little practical difference between the cars.
On the other hand, why do many S owners seem to think Miatas are chick cars? 95% of S2k owners would get owned by skilled mx-5 owners on a tight autocross course.
People often hate what they don't understand. I'm sure many Mazda owners who have actually spent considerable seat time in an s2k love the car. However, just like on this site, there are many people who base their judgements on magazine articles. To them, the S is just a $30k+ 14 second car with no torque.

I have had the best interactions with drivers of M3's, porsches, vettes, and of course other S2000 drivers at the track. The posers drive the street just looking for someone to make fun of because they are insecure...ignore them.
