I agree with xviper, as far as mod ability I think the S2K has a good a chance as the 350Z as far as easy cheap mods for quick horsepower. As it stands right now, CAI, Exhaust and most intake mods have shown little or nothing for HP gains. I think however in a year you will see a lot of TT, SC & Singe Turbo set ups, and I think because there are going to be so many more 350Z then S2K there will be a bigger mod market and more competitive prices.

my opinion get the s2000, im in the same situation as you are and i test drove both cars and others and out of all of them the most fun i had was with the s2000 yet unfortunatly its not as practical as the nissan 350z if u want agility better grip and a go-kart simple feel with the car get the s2k by all means. 350z is a good car but you can feel the weight of it a bit when taking turns also its honda..... honda is known for aftermarket parts.

the Z has TWO cupholders.. I'm jealous... but if you really want a sports car... man... go with the S, the Z is beautiful.. but its got too much riding on its name to be a true performer. The S came out to tell the world that.. Honda can make sports cars which kicks massive ass from a 2.0 NA. and it did tell the world that, the Z is trying to live up its name of sporty AND with a bit of luxury.. so if you going to be trying to be king of the road everyday... go with the S... if you want lay back and crusie. then go with the Z... either way.. its a win win.. both cars are very beautiful, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd go with my S, like what some people say in here.. nothing beats driving with the top down.

I might be in the minority here but I think the S2000 is fine without any mods. So far all I have added are rear speakers.
The car is kind of fast anyway. Fast enough for me at least. It's fun to drive.
One thing to think about is resale value. Honda's have better resale than nissan's. I was looking at money magazine they listed the S2000 at 5 years at like 48%. The 350Z was like 39%.
Also the 350Z is much more accesable to young kids because it can be had with automatic tranny, and can be had for $27K. They will be selling 3-4 350Z's for every one S2000.
